TaAA DAAAHhh

Well, since summer began I have been saying how I wanted Nikelle to take her first steps before I went back to work. I was for sure that it was not going to happen, she just had no desire. It all started a couple of weeks ago when she started standing in the middle of the floor and getting up without anything to pull up with. Then, all the sudden over the weekend, she started trying to move her feet. Today, I stayed home and sat with my niffty flip video I got from a workshop last week and tried to catch her. It only took alllll day. I finally got a good one! Nik, of course, said it would be better if she was dressed. It was after lunch and I was going to clean up, and she started going! Hurraayayy!! I got to see her first steps! (these are the actual get somewhere steps)
She is so funny, I have enjoyed the time I have had to spend with her all summer, I think I'm going to miss it!

Just Venting....grrr some People

I havn't really blogged a lot lately, just busy, but I had a minute and I just got back from taking Mclaren on her walk. We have been trying to leash train her and shes an 80 pound puppy that gets supper excited! So, tonight I was soooo happy we made it around the block and we even passed some dogs. Claren laid down while they passed and the people said what a good dog. I just had to laugh, we were only two houses down and it took us like 15 minutes to get that far! Well anywho....after she had her moments she really did well and we started around the block. As we got down the road on our way home some people on the corner had their dog in the back of their truck. Mind you it had a cover on it, so the dog echoed and Claren was not to sure about that. The people laughed and I laughed with them. Well, Claren wanted to check them out (I don't get it dogs, ok, people She has to meet!). Well, I could hear the people talking and I just got a few feet from their house, they started their big truck and reved the engine!!! Claren freaked out and the people started laughing and did it again! Well, here I go, almost flat on my face because she tried to run and was shaking! People can be so rude! I hope they enjoyed their moment, which I'm sure they did since they were laughing!

2 year anniversary

Nik and I just celebrated our 2 year anniversary. We decided to take a little getaway to Park City. It was the first time we had actually left Nikelle and been out of town for the night. So, we had it planned to go on Friday, up to the slides. When we got up there it was yucky so we had to wait until Sat. We then just did some sight seeing and shopping. We went over to Heber and Midway. On Sat we did the whole park thing and it was a blast. The only bummer was that we went on Friday to try to get past the crowds, but since they were not selling the all day pass we had to wait. It all worked out and we got to do the zip line, coaster, slides and have a fun day!

9 months old

Nikelle is now 9 months old. Time flys! No, we did not get her a bike for her 9 month un-birthday.....This was just taken the day before. Today we went to her checkup. She is now 28 inches long and 17.5 lbs. She is crawling around everywhere and gets into anything she tries to. Last week she went swimming in her little pool. She played in the cold water, but it only lasted a few minutes. I can't wait to take her to a big pool!
